About this policy
Georgia Weddings ("we," "us," or "our") operates GeorgiaWeddings.com, a directory that helps people discover wedding venues in Georgia. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse the site, use an account, contribute venue information, or contact us.

Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, account identifiers, password hash if you set a password, verification status, and account activity. We store a password hash rather than your readable password.
- Team and business information: memberships, roles, invitations, venue claims, and information you provide when managing a listing, including business contact details and photos.
- Support messages: information you choose to include in emails or other communications with us.
- Website and security information: information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, errors, and authentication activity used to run, troubleshoot, and protect the service.
- Public venue information: business details from venue representatives and publicly available sources. Published listings may include names, business contact information, links, descriptions, and photos.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or details about wedding guests that are unnecessary for these features.
Google Sign-In
Google Sign-In is optional when it is offered. We request only the basic identity permissions openid, email, and profile. Google returns your account identifier, name, email address, verification information, and basic profile information, which may include a profile photo and a Google Workspace domain.
We use this information to verify your identity, create a basic account when eligible, sign you in, or connect Google to your existing account after you explicitly confirm the connection. We save your Google account identifier, provider email and verification status, connection timestamps, and the name and email needed for your Georgia Weddings account. We do not save your Google profile photo or Google access and refresh tokens.
We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendars. We do not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train artificial intelligence models. Authorized service providers process it only as needed to provide and secure the service. Operator access is limited to support, security, legal requirements, and service operation.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
When connection controls are available, you can disconnect Google in your account's Security settings after setting a password so you retain a way to sign in. You can also remove Georgia Weddings' access through your Google Account connections. Removing access at Google does not by itself delete your Georgia Weddings account or previously stored information. To delete that information, use the account controls or contact us.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and venue tools, verify and secure sign-in, manage authorized team and listing access, send transactional messages such as invitations and password recovery emails, respond to requests, maintain and improve the website, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Google Sign-In does not automatically give an account vendor, venue-owner, or staff permissions. Existing-email matches require a separate account-linking process.
Cookies, browser storage, and analytics
We use cookies and similar storage for sessions, sign-in, request security, "remember me," and preferences such as appearance and sidebar settings. Blocking or clearing this storage may sign you out or prevent some features from working.
Saved venue favorites are stored in this browser's local storage. They are not currently synchronized to your account or other devices. Your browser sends the selected venue identifiers to our server to display the matching venues. Remove favorites individually or clear the site's browser storage to remove the locally saved list; deleting an account does not clear that list from your device.
We use Plausible Analytics to understand public page visits, referral sources, browser and device categories, approximate location, and useful actions such as visiting a venue website, opening a venue contact page, saving a venue, or applying filters. We also count completed account registrations, venue claims, and accepted business invitations without sending account identities or form contents. Authentication, recovery, and account management screens are excluded from pageview tracking. Analytics URLs omit query strings and fragments, and referral URLs are reduced to their origin. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, search text, or claim text in analytics events. Plausible describes its standard analytics as using no cookies or persistent visitor identifiers and not storing raw IP addresses. See Plausible's data policy.
When information is shared
- Service providers: Laravel Cloud and its infrastructure providers host and store application data; Resend delivers account emails; Laravel Nightwatch supports error and performance monitoring; Plausible provides analytics; and Google processes Google Sign-In. These providers receive the information needed for their services.
- Team members and public listings: authorized team members may see membership, invitation, and business information relevant to their team. Information and photos published in a venue listing are public. Do not put private personal information in a public listing.
- Legal and security needs: we may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect people and the service, or establish or defend legal rights.
- Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law and the commitments in this policy.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Following a venue, map, or other external link takes you to a third party. Loading an externally hosted photo may also send your IP address and browser information to its host. Those services follow their own privacy policies. Contacting a venue on its website or by phone shares information directly with that venue.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account is active and Google connection information while that connection is maintained. Disconnecting Google removes its connection record from the active application database. Deleting your account removes your sign-in profile and linked Google connection from active account records.
Published venue contributions, shared business or team records, invitations, correspondence, and records needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations may remain where needed for those purposes. Backup copies may remain until the applicable backup retention cycle expires and are not used for ordinary account access. We keep other personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here.
Contact us if you want us to review information that remains in a listing, shared record, or support correspondence. We may need to verify your identity and authority before making changes.
Your choices and requests
You can update your profile, manage sign-in options, and request account deletion through account settings. A Google-only account may need to set a password before using protected account controls. If you cannot use those controls, contact us for help.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. Email hello@georgiaweddings.com with your request. We will verify requests as appropriate, respond as required by applicable law, and explain any limits. If an applicable law gives you an appeal right, reply to our decision to request an appeal.
Security and processing locations
We use safeguards such as password hashing, restricted account access, and protected sign-in and recovery flows. No internet service or storage system can guarantee complete security.
We operate from the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy rules may differ by location; applicable legal protections continue to apply.
Children
Georgia Weddings is intended for adults planning or providing wedding services, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can review and address it.
Changes and contact
We will post updates on this page and change the date above. When applicable law or Google policies require additional notice or permission for a new use of information, we will provide it before that use.
